School Hospitality
The School Hospitality committee provides refreshments for Open House Nights and other PTA programs.
Volunteers Needed - Volunteers are needed to set up at Open House Nights and solicit donations of food. Contact the committee chairperson to volunteer.
School Supplies
The PTA holds a fundraiser each year where families can buy school supplies, and a portion of the proceeds go to the PTA. For more information, contact the committee chairperson.
Spring Event
The PTA hosts a fun-filled evening with fellow parents to socialize and support our schools. For more information, contact the committee chairperson.

SSES Be Kind to Animals
The PTA organizes change collections in each classroom at SSES. The proceeds go directly to the Easton Animal Shelter and help fund supplies. For more information, contact the committee chairperson.
SSES Birthday Pencils
The PTA supplies birthday pencils for each child at SSES to be given on their birthday.
SSES Box Tops (Campbell's and General Mills)
The PTA raises funds for SSES by participating in Campbell's Labels for Education program and General Mills Box Tops for Education program (www.boxtopsforeducation.com). It's easy to help raise needed funds for our schools. Just clip the labels from these products and send them to school in your child's backpack. SSES Calendar
Near the start of the school year, the PTA publishes an SSES calendar containing important SSES school dates. This calendar is provided to all members of the PTA with students at SSES at no charge. For more information, contact the committee chairperson.
SSES Diversity Day

SSES Field Day Coordinator
Near the end of the school year, SSES holds a Field Day for each grade at the school. The PTA coordinates volunteers and refreshments for this schoolwide event. For more information, contact the committee chairperson.
SSES Fifth Grade Yearbook
Each year, the SSES Fifth Grade Yearbook committee creates a yearbook for fifth graders. For more information, contact the committee chairperson.
SSES HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Schools) Program
Funded by the PTA, the HOTS program draws on a child's natural love of self-expression through writing, music, art, drama, and dance. The PTA also funds various cultural enrichment programs within the scope of the HOTS program, including annual artists in residence.

SSES Kindergarten Tea
The PTA organizes and funds this tea on the first day of school, so that parents of kindergarteners have the opportunity to see their little ones come off the school bus for the very first time, and get to know one another in a relaxed setting. For more information, contact a committee chairperson.

SSES Note Card Fundraiser
The PTA sponsors a note card sale at SSES.
SSES Room Parents
Room parents are responsible for planning class parties, and collecting student funds at the beginning of the year to cover the parties and an end of the year teacher’s gift. Room parents may also be asked to chaperone on field trips. In grades K-2, room parents are responsible for calling class parents in the event of an unscheduled early dismissal. You must be a PTA member to be a room parent.
SSES School Store
The PTA provides parent volunteers to help run the SSES School Store, which is open on monthly school spirit days. The store sells SSES clothing, water bottles, and other school supplies. SSES Scoop Newsletter
The PTA produces a bi-weekly newsletter for SSES which is distributed to anyone who has signed up to receive school information from SSES. For more information, contact the committee chairperson.
SSES Superscribes & Scribblers
The PTA publishes a book in June which features both artwork and written work of every SSES student. The book is available to purchase by SSES students.
Volunteers Needed - 25-30 volunteers are needed to type and proofread at home, from mid-March through April. Contact the committee chairperson to volunteer.
Student Directory
Near the start of the school year, the PTA publishes a student directory containing all students at SSES and HKMS. This directory is provided to all members of the PTA at no charge. (Non-members of the PTA can purchase the directory for $12.) For more information, contact the committee chairperson.
Teacher Appreciation
Each year, the PTA organizes events during national teacher appreciation week. The week’s activities include a luncheon served to teachers and administrators, and plenty of opportunity for student participation.
Volunteers Needed - Several volunteers are needed to donate food, and to help with setup and cleanup. Contact a committee chairperson to volunteer.
Uno Chicago Grill Fundraiser
Each month, the PTA sponsors a fundraiser with Uno Chicago Grill where families go to Uno Chicago Grill on specific days and a portion of the cost of the meal is donated to the PTA by the restaurant. Uno Chicago Grill days for the 2008/2009 school year are planned as follows:
